Originally founded in 1996, First Steps Nursery has been proud to serve the Macclesfield area for 30 years. First established in Bollington from 1996, our nursery relocated to Macclesfield in 2016 and is now based inside the Calvary Church on Merebrook Road.
First Steps Nursery is a well established nursery, we work well with families and have developed strong links in the community.
We value the abilities and achievements of each individual child, and are committed to providing the best possible environment for learning and development. We aim to: provide high quality care and education for children below statutory school age; work in partnership with parents and carers to help children learn and develop; add to the life and well-being of the local community; offer children and their parents/carers a service that promotes equality and values diversity. Come and join us in First Steps Nursery where your child/children can play, explore (whatever the weather), have fun in the mud kitchen, bake, go on trips, explore the indoor classrooms and more… the list is endless!
I was born in Melton Mobray and grew up in a small farming village. It was always a dream of mine to have a nursery, and I have now owned First Steps Nursery for over 30 years. I have two grown-up children, and I love live music, photography, and walking. I am a huge Bruce Springsteen fan, and support Nottingham Forest.
I am a married mother of one, and most of my free time is spent exploring outdoors with my son. We enjoy bug hunting, bird watching, and pond dipping together.
I enjoy spending time with family and friends, travelling, and sightseeing. I have a love of 90's music, and enjoy going to concerts.
I have worked in Early Years since I was 16, and find the job very rewarding. My favourite activity is reading stories, as I like to ignite the children's imagination.
I love walking in the Cheshire countryside most weekends, and annually complete the Cheshire Three Peaks Challenge.
I have a keen interest in healthy living, and love to try new experiences such as reiki and meditation.
I enjoy travelling, trying exotic foods, and cooking from scratch at home. I love sharing this interest with the children, teaching them about healthy foods, and carrying out the occasional yoga class.
I am a mother of two, who both attended First Steps Nursery. I love music, being around people, adventures, and travelling, especially around Scotland.
I did the NC500 and visited Orkney. I enjoy being outdoors in nature, walking, and exploring. At home I have a mini farm with one rabbit, two cats, two tortoises, one gekko, one chicken, a pond, and soon, a self-built aviary.
From a young age I always wanted to work with children, and I particularly enjoy supporting the development of children with additional needs.
I am a married mother of two. Family is central in my life, and I enjoy supporting my children in sports, spending time with loved ones, and exploring new places.
In my free time I play netball for local teams and keep active. I love adventures, like climbing Snowdon or the 02 Arena, sunny holidays, and travel.
With over twenty years in childcare, I specialise in messy play, encouraging creativity, imagination, and motor skills in children. As the two year old lead, I focus on developing communication, and language skills.
I have worked in childcare for over twenty years, and am incredibly passionate about the work I do. Supporting children as they grow, learn, and develop is both rewarding and fun. I love being part of those important early years that help shape confidence and curiosity about the world.
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, experiencing different parts of the world, and learning about new cultures. I also love reading, which is a great way for me to relax and keep learning.
I'm a proud mum to a seven year old son, and much of my free time is spent cheering him on from the sidelines at his local football matches. Being around children, both professionally and personally, is something that brings me a lot of joy.
From being young I always knew I wanted to work with children. I started working at First Steps Nursery as a college student many years ago on a placement, and have been here ever since.
I spend most of my free time having fun with my lovely children. I also enjoy crocheting, doing jigsaws, watching Christmas movies, and I love the snow!
